Information Carrywise Uses

Trip and packing details. Carrywise stores the trips, destinations, dates, packing items, prep tasks, kits, bag names, bag assignments, item weights, airline selections, notes, completion states, and app preferences you create or edit in the app.

iCloud sync. If iCloud is available on your device, Carrywise syncs supported app data using your private iCloud account through Apple CloudKit and iCloud key-value storage. Carrywise does not run its own account system for this data.

Notifications. Carrywise may schedule local notifications for trip prep reminders and overdue prep items. Notification permission is managed by iOS and can be changed in device settings.

Import and Export

Carrywise lets you export and import app data, including archives and CSV files. Exported files are created only when you choose to export them, and you control where those files are saved or shared. Imported files are read only when you choose a file to import.

Destination Search and Maps

Carrywise may use Apple MapKit for destination search, autocomplete, map-related features, and destination coordinate lookup. These requests are used for app functionality, not advertising or tracking.

On-Device Classification

When available, Carrywise may use Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework to help classify packing items. This classification happens on your device and is used to improve app functionality.

Network Requests

Carrywise may make network requests to:

• Apple iCloud and CloudKit services for private sync.
• Apple MapKit services for destination search and map-related features.

Carrywise does not currently use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs.

How Information Is Used

Carrywise uses information to save and show your trips, packing lists, prep tasks, kits, bag organization, weight planning, reminder timing, app preferences, and import/export data. Carrywise does not sell your data or share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

Data Storage and Deletion

Carrywise stores app data locally on your device. If iCloud sync is available, supported app data is also stored in your private iCloud database or iCloud key-value store.

You can export an archive from Settings before making major changes. You can erase Carrywise data from Settings, which deletes trips, packing items, prep tasks, and custom kits from the device and synced iCloud data, subject to normal iOS and iCloud behavior.

You can also delete the app from your device to remove local app data, subject to normal iOS and iCloud behavior.

Children

Carrywise is not intended to collect personal information from children for advertising or tracking. If children use the app, iCloud, notification, and file-sharing features should be managed by a parent or guardian through Apple device and family settings.

Changes

This policy may be updated as Carrywise changes. If the app adds new data collection, analytics, payments, sharing, or account features, this policy and App Store privacy answers should be reviewed and updated.
