LocalWise connects travelers with locals for real, non-touristy experiences. We collect only what's needed to run the platform. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising or third-party tracking.

Account Information

Sign-in with Google. LocalWise uses Google OAuth to create and authenticate accounts. When you sign in, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. This information is used to identify you on the platform and is stored in our database.

Profile data. Hosts may provide additional profile information such as a bio, city, and hosted experience details. This information is visible to other users of the platform.

Booking Data

When you book an experience, LocalWise stores the booking details including the host, date, time, status, and any messages exchanged as part of the booking process. This data is used to coordinate the experience and is accessible to both the traveler and the host.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. LocalWise does not store credit card numbers or full payment details. Stripe may collect and store payment information subject to Stripe's privacy policy. LocalWise stores transaction identifiers and booking amounts to maintain booking records.

Third-Party Services

LocalWise uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Google OAuth — account sign-in and authentication.
  • Supabase — cloud database and backend infrastructure. Data is stored on Supabase servers.
  • Stripe — payment processing for bookings.
  • Cloudflare Workers — web application hosting and delivery.

LocalWise does not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics tracking SDKs.

How Information Is Used

LocalWise uses the information collected to: create and manage user accounts, display host profiles to travelers, coordinate bookings between travelers and hosts, process payments, and communicate booking status. We do not sell your data or share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

Data Storage and Deletion

Account and booking data is stored in our cloud database (Supabase). To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below. Note that some records (such as completed transaction history) may be retained as required for legal or financial compliance.

Children

LocalWise is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our platform, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

This policy may be updated as LocalWise evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
